Unable to install Dell SupportAssist – Installer Closes at 100%
Hi everyone,
I have an Alienware x15 R2.
I'm having trouble reinstalling the Dell SupportAssist application after uninstalling it.
I’ve read most of the relevant forum posts and also watched the video explaining how to properly uninstall it.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
I uninstalled the program via Control Panel.
Then, I used CMD to remove all remaining services related to SupportAssist .
I also deleted leftover files in both ProgramData and Program Files.
I removed any other applications related to SupportAssist as well.
- I also installed Microsoft .NET SDK versions 6.0.401, 9.0.301, and 8.0.411.
- Currently, the only related Dell applications installed on my system are Dell Core Services, Alienware Digital Delivery Services, and Command Center 5.x.
- My laptop is fully up to date with all Windows and driver updates installed.
However, when I try to install the latest version again, it reaches 100% and then just closes without completing the installation.
No Events found!

1) close all antivuris program like norton
2) dowloand Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update
3) Dowloand Dell SupportAssist twice

Click here for information to completely uninstall support assist and then reinstall it back into the computer.
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.
