This is the only process that worked for me to get SA working on my Windows PC

Support Assist stopped working on my Windows PC and nothing I tried worked. I reset Windows. Nope. I reset my entire computer (it needed it anyway). Nope.

These instructions from the Microsoft discussion site finally worked:

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

Dell Support Assist relies on the .NET architecture to

Ensure that your system meets the operational requirements

Check the Windows update status to see if your system has the latest patches:

Open Settings → Update and Security → click on “Check for updates” and install all available updates.

Check the completeness of the .NET Framework installation:

SupportAssist relies on the .NET Framework, open Control Panel → Programs → Enable or Disable Windows Features and make sure .NET Framework 4.7 or higher is checked.

Completely uninstall SupportAssist and clean up the residue.

The previous reinstallation may not have been complete and you need to make sure that all relevant files are deleted.

Steps: Complete Uninstallation

Press WIN+R and type Control

Open Control Panel → Programs and Features → Find Dell SupportAssist, right-click and select Uninstall.

Also uninstall the following related components:

SupportAssistAgent

SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for DellUpdate

Dell SupportAssist Remediation

Dell Update Service (only if installed with SupportAssist)

To clean up the residual files

Press Win + R, enter the following path and delete all folders:

C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssist

C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SupportAssist

C:\ProgramData\SupportAssist

C:\ProgramData\Dell\SupportAssist

Open the Registry Editor (regedit):

Search for the keyword SupportAssist and manually delete the related entries.

Warning: Please make a backup before modifying the registry to avoid deleting key items by mistake.

Delete Temporary Files

Press Win + R and type %temp% to delete all contents of the directory.

Press Win + R and type temp to delete the same.

Redownload the new version of Dell SupportAssist:
