SupportAssist
Inspiron 5770
I have two Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptops running Windows 10 and with the same set up. On one laptop, Support Assist has updated to 4.6.2. On the other it still has 4.0.3 although the list of installed programs shows 4.6.2 has been installed. 4.0.3 just keeps telling me it is being updated and to try later. When I try to install from the .exe download it says there is no internet connection even though there is. I am not techy and need a simple solution to update the laptop with 4.0.3 to 4.6.2.

Sorry I can't offer help with this but I have a similar problem with 2 Dell PCs.
The laptop Support Assistant work fine but on the Precision Tower it's awful:
Despite uninstalling SA and reinstalling latest version in W11 Reliability History it is Always the first entry-Faulting application name: Dell.CoreServices.Client.exe, version: 1.5.20.3

Hi Poodle100:
Employee Dell-Brad L recently announced that Dell is planning to push out two SupportAssist v4.x updates to fix serious bugs in v4.6.2 - see their 19-Dec-2024 post in MichaelInParis's Any way to reduce the size of the DTPDB.DB file?. From what I understand, the v4.6.3 update will begin rolling out next Tuesday on 24-Dec-2024 to fix a bug that impacts system performance due to excessive RAM and CPU consumption, and a second update will be released at a later date to fix a bug that causes database files in the C:\ProgramData\Dell\DTP\DB folder to grow over time and consume excessive amounts of disk space (i.e., typically in the range of 20 - 80 GB).
I have no idea if either of these upcoming updates will fix your SupportAssist problems, but I'd suggest you follow MichaelInParis's topic about their DTBDB.DB bug since that is probably the topic where employee Dell-Brad L will post status updates about these bug fixes.
Also note that Dell has apparently pulled SupportAssist v4.6.2 from their download servers because of the seriousness of these bugs and temporarily reverted back to the previous v4.0.3 - see melzie's 19-Dec-2024 post in Aleric's Missing "Dell Client Management Service".

Hi Laurent1717:
That's an off-topic question that I couldn't even attempt to answer without knowing the full name of your Dell computer model and Windows OS. Please start a new topic and post any relevant information there.
In the mean time see my 20-Dec-2024 post <here> in joetheiss' topic that includes instructions on how to find the make/model and current driver version of your sound card in Device Manager. If you go to https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/products and enter your unique Service Tag this should redirect you to the correct support page for your Dell computer model and list the installer for the RealTek Audio driver currently recommended for your system.
