SupportAssist to be or not to be? That is the question…
OK, I am very far —light years away— from being any sort of tech expert. My Dell Support Assist also failed me, even after the traditional multiple reboots, etc. In reading these many posts about the exact same problem, I am extremely confused. But I think it boils down to this—Do I really REQUIRE Supportassist or can I manage to get along without it? Some people seem to do without it quite well.
And I will chime in with all the others asking in chorus, WHY can’t Dell resolve this SA headache once and for all?

No, you dont need SA. I have deactivated it on my XPS for the time being since it causing bluescreen when running the task. So I will not try to activate it before Dell yet again update SA.

See my 26-Oct-2022 post in Vica11's Does Support Assist and Recommended Updates Still Work After Warranty Expired?. The current SupportAssist v3.12.3.5 seems to run correctly on my Inspiron 5584 but the last paragraph of that post explains why I have also disabled SupportAssist and prefer to use Dell Update Windows Universal v4.6.0 to check for Dell software and drivers.
If you are still interested in trying to get SupportAssist v3.12.3.5 working on your computer there is also a link in that post to Dell employee DELL-Nathalia M's instructions <here> for installing SupportAssist that are specific to the latest SupportAssist v3.12.3.5. As I noted in Vica11's thread, Step # 1 of DELL-Nathalia M's instructions advise that users begin by removing all traces of previous SupportAssist installations using the Microsoft Install and Uninstall troubleshooter. Step # 2 of those instructions also advise that users have the older .NET Runtime v6.0.9 (rel. 13-Sep-2022), and not the current v6.10.0 (rel. 11-Oct-2022), installed on their system before they reinstall SupportAssist with the .msi standalone installer. That suggests to me that the current v3.12.3.5 installer has a glitch and is not smart enough skip over the installation of .NET Runtime v6.0.9 when a newer (and more secure) version of .NET Runtime v6.0.x is already installed.
You can check at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features to see which versions of the Microsoft .NET (Core) Runtime are currently installed on your computer. From my Insprion 5584 / Win 10 Pro v21H2 laptop (note that I haven't bothered to uninstall the unsupported .NET Runtime v5.0.17 yet, which was a system requirement for the previous SupportAssist v3.11.4.29) :
