SupportAssist stops mid installation on a Inspiron 3442

I've been trying to update my Inspiron 3442, but can't get SupportAssist to install. Each time I try I get the following error message:

Translation: "Download Error. It was not possible to download the installation file. Check your internet connection e try again." This is most bizarre! I've tried interrupting the protection software to check if it was the issue but it didn't work. Help would be much appreciated.
