SupportAssist on PCs Windows 11 - cannot start, SA icon has disappeared
SupportAssist on PCs Windows 11 - cannot start, SA icon has disappeared
After upgrading from WIN10 to WIN11 and after the upgrade, the Dell SupportAssist icon and file disappeared. I reinstalled SA and the installer wrote that I had the current version of SA. Still, I can't find it on my PC and run it again.
I use SA very often. Please help.

What happens when you click on Start and just type "support"? I do not have an icon on 100s of PCs that I manage either (on purpose), but that's how we get to it; that is after typing support, SupportAssistant shows up on the menu as an option.

If I type SupportAssit in the Start menu, then no icon will appear, only the folder with the file "SupportAssistChatBot.dat".
When you uninstall SupportAssist, the following notification appears

Hi cervik:
I don't know if this will help, but lczerkie posted about a similar Error 1720 when trying to install SupportAssist v3.10.3 on their Inspiron 3593 / Win 10 v21H1 laptop at Problems Installing SupportAssist. See Dell employee NikhilKiroula's 31-Aug-2021 post <here> in that thread about a possible workaround (i.e., changing the security permissions of the C:\ProgramData folder).
Also note that that there's a known issue with multiple versions of Win 7 SP1 to Win 11 after installing KB5007215 or later (for Win 11 I believe that is Build 22000.318 released 09-Nov-2021) where the Microsoft Installer (MSI) might have issues updating or repairing apps. According to Microsoft's Windows 11 Known Issues and Notifications at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-21h2#2759msgdesc this bug was patched for Win 11 on 22-Nov-2021 with optional update KB5007262 (Preview Build 22000.348).
Alex5723 started a discussion about this bug in the AskWoody.com forum on 19-Nov-2021 at Microsoft Installer Issues Updating or Repairing Apps Effecting All Windows.
