Hi L52:

See Dell employee DELL-Chris M's 10-Jun-2024 SupportAssist, "Hardware scan fails", "We ran into a problem" for details about some of the known bugs in SupportAssist v4.0.3, including a known conflict with SupportAssist v4.0.3 and Dell Command | Update v5.x. At this point your best option might be to simply uninstall SupportAssist until a newer version is released and use an alternate utility like Dell Command | Update v5.x to check for available updates.

Go to your Precision 3680 Tower support page at https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/precision-t3680-workstation/drivers, click the This Device tab and enter your unique Service Tag to display a filtered list of Dell software and drivers that are compatible with your system components.

If you find that Dell Command | Update for Windows Universal v5.4.0 is a match for your Service Tag (and it isn't already installed) then download the .exe installer (Dell-Command-Update-Windows-Universal-Application_9M35M_WIN_5.4.0_A00.EXE, rel. 31-Jul-2024) and save it to your desktop, close your browser, right-click the .exe installer, and choose "Run as Administrator".

NOTE:  Ensure that SupportAssist v4.0.3 is uninstalled and you have re-booted your system BEFORE you start your Dell Command | Update for Windows Universal v5.4.0 installation.
