SupportAssist just hangs when running

I'm running the latest version 3.13.0.236  (as of 8th Dec 22) of SupportAssist and it just hangs on the first task of "Get Drivers & downloads".

Backstory is I've downloaded MANY versions of this app over the years  and they consistently fail to run properly. 

I am running it on a pretty nice XPS 8700 that doesn't usually stall out or have an glitchy type of issues but ironically the one app thats designed to enhance it just about always fails!!! 

Will Dell actually be providing a working version of this app any time soon or are users expected to just keep wasting their time?!
