SupportAssist has stopped working even after reinstall

After using SupportAssist to keep the drivers on my PC up-to-date for years, it has suddenly stopped working.

The software seems to load and open normally although a little more slowly than usual but then after selecting an action "Start" or "sign-in" become perpetually unavailable.

I have all the latest updates and have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. Anyone else having this issue recently?

So, I'm now more confused than ever.

I received an email that a user named travishead38009 has responded to my post, yet this response does not appear in the thread; only in my email, no matter how many times I refresh or sign in.

Not sure what's going on but thanks for the reply. I have all the latest .NET framework's installed (including 9.0) and when I tried to use Dell's Online Diagnostics, it checks for SupportAssist and then shows the following error:

"Quick test error: Administrator rights are required to perform this action"

This makes no sense. I sign into this PC using my Microsoft Account; the one and only account which is already the Administrator and only SupportAssist appears to be not working.

I hope you can see and read this even though your reply appears only in my email.

I am happy to report that I was able to get SupportAssist working again by following advice from an old post by XPS_Man. He recommended deleting a number of folders that might be left over after uninstalling to insure a clean re-installation.

Thank you XPS_Man!

Unfotunately, it appears that I spoke too soon. Although I got SupportAssist working again on my computer, it lasted only a week.  On December 28th when I opened the program it prompted me to install an update.

After the update SupportAssist stopped working.

Once again, it appears to open normally but "sign-in" or running any test is unavailable. Now following XPS_Man's protocol no longer helps. Even after a clean and thorough uninstall and reinstallation. the problem persists.

Anyone else having this experience? Please let me know.
