SupportAssist failing to install on Alienware M15 R3 Windows 11
Alienware m15 R3
As of yesterday, running SupportAssist wasn't working so I decided to uninstall and re-install it. After uninstalling, I downloaded it again from here but trying it install it only resulted with the following:
I tried rebooting and trying again...same error. I tried to uninstall the Alienware SupportAssist plugins like the OS recovery as well to see if I needed to remove everything SupportAssist related to fix the issue but still the same issue persists. Only thing left about SupportAssist on my laptop as far as I am aware are some files in C:\ProgramData\Dell. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Also, I have the installer.log file if posting that would help narrow down the issue.

Hi Hiimcarson:
There are essentially the same comments I made yesterday in redhonkers thread Dell SupportAssist Failed to Install Update from 3.10.4.18 on Windows 10, but I've modified them for your Alienware M15 R3 / Win 11 laptop.
Has the service warranty for your Alienware M15 R3 expired yet? If you could post an excerpt from your installation log showing any logged errors and let us know the name and location where you found that log (e.g., a hidden folder like C:\ProgramData\Dell\SupportAssist\Agent\logs\installer, C:\ProgramData\SupportAssist\Client\Agent\logs\ApplicationLogs\, etc.) that would be helpful, but if your service warranty hasn't expired it might make more sense to start a live chat or open a support ticket with Dell and send them your installation log for analysis.
What is the version and build of your Win 11 OS shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications? Do you have the current Alienware M15/M17 R3 System BIOS v1.18.0 (rel. 11-Jul-2022) recommended on the support page <here> for your Alienware M15 R3? If you aren't sure open a Run dialog box, enter msinfo32 to open your System Information panel, and look for the “BIOS Version/Date” field.
If you download a fresh copy of SupportAssistInstaller.exe from the SupportAssist for Home PCs download page, save it to your desktop, and then right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" does the installation fail with the same error message?
The minimum system requirements posted <here> for SupportAssist v3.11.4 show that this latest version now requires both "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 and .NET Core Runtime v5.0.14". Does Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features show that you have a .NET Runtime v5.0.x installed? From my Inspiron 5584:
Did you uninstall all SupportAssist-related programs (e.g., Dell SupportAssist Remediation, Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update, etc.) from Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features as instructed in employee DELL-Chris M's SA Uninstall / Reinstall before you started your manual cleanup? Note that when I follow DELL Chris M's instructions I usually use Revo Uninstaller Free in "Aggressive" mode to uninstall those programs to ensure I clean up most of the orphaned files and registry entries left behind by the "regular" uninstaller.
The Dell Tech Support video at Dell SupportAssist Not Installing was recently updated on 17-Jun-2022 and includes some folders, registry entries and Windows services that might still need to be cleaned up manually after your SupportAssist uninstall. XPS_Man has also posted alternate instructions for a clean reinstall of SupportAssist in DGav94's Dell Support Assist Fails to Install that uses Microsoft's Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter for uninstalling your Dell programs. According to TheWindowsClub article Cannot Install or Uninstall Programs in Windows 11/10 that troubleshooter should be compatible with Win 11.

Unfortunately, there are so many issues right now with the latest SupportAssist v3.11.4.29 (rel. 23-Jun-2022) installer that I'm not sure you'll ever get it to run correctly until Dell releases a new installer with fewer glitches. Have you installed the Dell Update/Alienware Update Universal Application v4.5.0 (rel. 25-Mar-2022) listed <here> on the Alienware M15 R3 support page, and if so does it run correctly?
