It seems my topic about how SupportAssist v4 is a disaster in relation to its parasitic cleanup job went under the radar, so food for thought for anyone having upgraded from v3.x to v4.x - beware, SupportAssist can behave like malware.

Support Assist 4.0.2 automatically installed on my new XPS 8960. I am still unable to sign in on this version. Also driver detection on is not working. These problems all started with the Support Assist version 4.
With the ongoing problems, would it not be sensible if Dell kept an older working version of Support Assist for us to download until these issues are finally sorted out

SupporAssist 3.14 kept installing on my Vostro 3020. Although I completely uninstalled the previous version and download the new installation file, v. 3.14 installed. Any Solution ?
