SupportAssist 3.4.0 "Get Drivers and Downloads" not working
Initially I was not able to update my drivers or scan my hardware, so I uninstalled SupportAssist, deleted all the folders, and redownloaded it. I was able to successfully scan my hardware, but I still am unable to see if there are any drivers I should download.
When I click "run now", it will run for a few seconds, and then say that there was an "unexpected error" in red.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, everyone. I had the same problem. Today I use "Alienware Update"(You can find this app in your start menu.). There is an update for SupportAssist. Now my version of SupportAssist is 3.1.4.49. I just check "Get Drivers and Downloads". Now everything looks fine.It works normally and shows me "none available". I am not sure this is the reason or not. Just want to share this with everyone.

I have the same problem as well.
I completely uninstalled anything that has "SupportAssist" in its name and re-installed it using SupportAssistInstaller.exe.
When I run it (v3.4) and select Get Drivers & Downloads, a red message "Validating result" is displayed, followed by another "An unexpected error occurred" red message.

Well, after installing the "Dell XPS 13 9370 System BIOS - 1.12.1" and several retries and restarts, the issue has now been solved. I was able to download 2 updates using Get Drivers & Downloads:
- Realtek High Definition Audio Driver - A15 - 408.44 MB - Recommended
- Dell/Alienware Digital Delivery Application - A15 - 80.86 MB - Optional
and now the check for updates completes normally and displays the green message "None available"

Hi 2020visions:
If you're still looking for a solution I posted a possible workaround in my thread Inspiron 5584 / SA v3.4.0 - "Get Drivers & Downloads" Error. Unfortunately, a BIOS update from v1.8.0 to v1.9.1 (rel. 07-Jan-2020) and a re-install of the current Dell SupportAssist v3.4.0.217 didn't fix the problem for me.

Hi 2020visions:
Further to my 11-Jan-2020 post <here> in this thread about how I solved the issue where "An unexpected error occurred" message appeared in SupportAssist v3.4.0.200 when I ran Get Drivers & Downloads, please note that the recent update to v3.4.1.9 appears to have triggered a new error message stating "An unexpected error occurred while trying to run this request" that flashes briefly at the top of the main GUI just after SupportAssist is launched (i.e., just before the 90 Day Summary appears). See the image I posted 27-Jan-2020 in my thread Inspiron 5584 / SA v3.4.0 - "Get Drivers & Downloads" Error.
My Inspiron 5583/5584 BIOS v1.9.1 (rel. 07-Jan-2020) is fully patched and the Dell Update SupportAssist Update Plugin that I uninstalled on 09-Jan-2020 has not been reinstalled.
