Support Assistant

I tried running Support Assistant today and I keep getting this error message.

"Class not registered"

I have no idea what this is.

@Winks25

I would suggest that you uninstall SupportAssist, reboot, and reinstall.  It sounds like a corrupt installation to me.

I hope this helps.  Have a great day.

I would agree with Phil, if still having an issue or SupportAssist doesn't show in the control panel try using the MS uninstall tool

  1. Download the MSFix tool from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-installed-or-removed.
  2. Run the tool, click Next and then select Uninstall.
  3. The app will scan and show a list of apps, scroll down and select Dell SupportAssist and click on next.

I have a new Dell Laptop 5440 and while setting up the software Dell Support Assistant became corrupted, and I can't reinstall it. I have uninstalled all the supporting files suggested. It goes through the process and when done it not there.
