Hi cwkerr007:
If your deleted files were originally moved to your Recycle Bin it's likely your Boost Performance scan has already purged the Recycle Bin. Users have been complaining for years about SupportAssist automatically purging their Recycle Bin without their permission but AFAIK Dell has never fixed this problem.
Does your SupportAssist History page display any details about what was cleaned? I haven't used SupportAssist since 2023 but an old image I captured in July 2022 shows the History tab of SupportAssist v3.x would only list a brief summary of what was cleaned.
IMPORTANT: When I still used SupportAssist v.3.x I would turn off ALL automatic updates, scans, and optimizations (see the SupportAssist v5 User Guide <here> for instructions) and would only run "Update Software" and "Scan Hardware" tasks manually when needed from the Home tab of SupportAssist to prevent any unexpected updates or unwanted changes to my system.
I removed ALL SupportAssist-related software (including Dell SupportAssist, Dell SupportAssist Remediation, and Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update) from my Inspiron 5584 after my service warranty expired – they were too buggy, consumed too much RAM and CPU, and the “system optimization” scans in SupportAssist (Boost Performance / Optimize Network) were too aggressive and had the potential to do more harm than good. For example, see my 12-Jul-2021 posts in ex-jedi's Prevent Automatic Recycle Bin Emptying about the over-aggressive registry cleaner included with the Tune Performance scan (now called Boost Performance in SupportAssist v5.x). See my 08-Feb-2025 post in ygil’s BSOD Issues After Windows Updates in the Dell forum for further details on the steps I took to replace most of the functionality of these Dell programs.
-----------
Dell Inspiron 15 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.7291 * Firefox v151.0.1 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.26040.7-1.1.26040.8 * Malwarebytes Standard v5.5.6.254-156.0.5608 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783 * My Dell v2.2.6.0
