Support Assist Will Not Run
I have an Inspiron 3471 and SupportAssist just will not work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled actually a newer version 4.3.1. Still does the same thing -- tells me taking too long and to restart which does nothing but the same thing. It's been going on for a week. Chatted with support who supplied me with the download and instructions also. Any ideas?

Hi @Sandigee :
See employee DELL-Chris M's 10-Jun-2024 SupportAssist, "Hardware scan fails", "We ran into a problem" about known issues with the current SupportAssist v4.0.3. DELL-Chris M advises that "The easiest workaround for now is to uninstall SA and await the new version".
Just note that Dell SupportAssist v4.x has two components - the main application and a small "helper" Appx module that contain files and credentials required to install and run the main application - and each component as a different version number. See my 16-Sep-2024 post in AnotherJamieRI's "Dell SupportAssist" vs "SupportAssist" vs "Dell Update" vs "Dell Update for Windows Universal" for more information.
I no longer have SupportAssist installed on my Inspiron 5584, but if you search for "supportassist" at Settings | Apps | Apps & Features I suspect you'll see that your main Dell SupportAssist application is currently v4.0.3 and the small SupportAssist Appx module is v4.3.1.
The current version number of your main Dell SupportAssist application is also listed at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features. When you launch SupportAssist the initial splash screen that is displayed while SupportAssist loads should also show the current version number of your main application.
NOTE: When I used SupportAssist v3.x I could go to Options (gear icon) | About to see the current version number of my main application and automatically check for an available program update (see image below) but I don't know if a similar option still exists in SupportAssist v4.x.
