Support Assist stops working when the OS Plug In and Remediation updates are installed.
Support Assist (SA), when logged into my Dell account and at the Support.Dell.com website, will search for and find updates from Dell for my XPS 8940 desktop PC. However, as soon as the OS Plug In and Remediation SA updates are installed on my system, suddenly Support Assist is no longer able to detect my PC or see that SA is already installed. Instead, it keeps opening the SA download & install dialogue box. The only way I can get the support.dell.com webpage to work for my PC is to uninstall both the OS Plug In and the Remediation SA updates first. Be aware that, then, Dell Update finds those two updates all over again and says they should be installed. Until fixes are completed by Dell so either they do away with the OS Plug In & the Remediation updates or else fix them so they work correctly with Support Assist, they cannot be installed.
