Support Assist not starting
When I open Support Assist it pops up, saying it is preparing, but never starts.
I tried to 'clean reinstall' SA but just the same. My Windows 10 is up-to-date, including .net framework 4.8.1

Hi Georgey:
Try performing another clean reinstall of SupportAssist as instructed in employee DELL-Nat M's 24-Dec-2024 post <here> but this time make sure you reinstall using a fresh copy of the latest installer (SupportAssistInstaller.exe) from the link provided in those instructions. You can also download the latest SupportAssistInstaller.exe from the direct download link at https://downloads.dell.com/serviceability/catalog/SupportAssistinstaller.exe. A new installer was released a few days ago that should install the SupportAssist v4.8.1.27758. See Rango39's 23-Mar-2025 post in dantre3's SupportAssist Will Not Install for more information.
The system requirements section <here> of the SupportAssist for Home PCs v4 User’s Guide notes that SupportAssist v4.6.x or higher now requires the Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.x. The installer (SupportAssistInstaller.exe) should automatically install this .NET Desktop Runtime if it is missing from your system, which you can confirm at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features.
NOTE: If you search for "runtime" at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features the word ".NET" will be missing from the name of your .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.x program but it should include the word "Desktop" if you have the correct runtime.
If a clean reinstall with a fresh copy of SupportAssistInstaller.exe doesn't help then post back and let us know your Dell computer model, the version and OS build of your Win 10 OS [open a Run dialog box (Windows key + R) and enter winver] and BIOS version. To find your current BIOS version open a Run dialog box, enter msinfo32 to open your System Information, and look for the field named "BIOS Version / Date" in the summary. Also let us know if your Dell service warranty has expired.
