Support Assist installation fails: Certificate validation

Installing Support Assist fails with this error message:

"Installation cancelled
We encountered an unexpected error while installing SupporTAssist. This may be due to a lost internet connection."

The Windows event log says:
"SupportAssistCertificateValidationFailed - 7 : Certificate validation failed for SupportAssist".

What can be done to further debug this?

System:
Dell XPS 15 9560
Windows 10

Working for me now too.  The must have fixed whatever certificate issues they were having.

Here also that happened.

"Installation canceled.
We encountered an unexpected error while installing SupportAssist. This may be due to a host internet connection. Check your connection and try again."

My Internet connection is perfect.
The Dell can not create a flawless Support application.

Ask for support, or I'll send the laptop back.

Thanks.

@DellFanHungary

Please look up what SupportAssist Installer writes to Windows logs (https://www.howtogeek.com/123646/htg-explains-what-the-windows-event-viewer-is-and-how-you-can-use-it/).

You'll find it in "Windows Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application".

Copy and paste it here please.

Had exactly the same thing this morning:  SupportAssist ran perfectly a week ago, then refused to launch this morning.  Tried re-installing with these errors from the EventViewer:

"Exception occurred in while processing ValidateCertificateSignature requestwith exception as : Cannot find the requested object."

"SupportAssistCertificateValidationFailed - 7 : Certificate validation failed for SupportAssist"

Dell, what did you do???

I'm having this exact same problem on my brand new optiplex 5050 computers, just started today. Happens when I try to update my SupportAssist. I was able to update it just fine on a couple of my machines just yesterday though. I'm wondering if it has something to do with todays windows updates?

FIXED

I deleted Dell Assist from ADD/REMOVE programs and Dell Assist plugin..

Then went to start and typed DELL SUPPORT and from there I clicked assist and downloaded the new one and it worked and allowed me to launch the program.

I've tried to install multiple ways ... from the Dell web site, from Windows Store, etc. and I continue to get this message.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
