Support Assist frequently does not know it is already installed

I'd like to point out a persistent problem that Dell should finally address. After installing Microsoft Cumulative Updates, almost every time, Dell Support claims I have to install Support Assist, even though it was already installed. Frequently, attempting to reinstall Support Assist is not a smooth process, even ending up with error messages.

I've come to know that if you mess around long enough, reboot and try again, multiple times, eventually Support Assist will wake up again, and run.

This has been going on far too many years, for Dell to continue to ignore the problem. Thanks.

Same problem happened again today, after it happened yesterday. Yesterday, it was after a Windows cumulative update. Today, it was after a Dell BIOS update. Same deal. Try to run Support Assist, it tells you right away to install it first. Then it encounters an error and tells you reboot and try again. A waste of time, it still doesn't work. Get out of Support Assist, try again, eventually it allows you to see all the updates available, or to automatically scan the PC.

Oh, and also, any suggestion to disconnect all USB devices is a non-starter. I can't believe people even suggest that. My keyboard, mouse, and Internet connection are all via USB. Come on, guys, let's get real
