SA, false NIC failure

Inspiron 3671

Inspiron 3671

Upon completing my Support Assist Hardware Scan last month, I noticed that the Network Card failed - with an error code of D1303.  I went to the Dell site to run the Support Assist Diagnostics there - and found out that the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is the Card that failed.  I made sure to update any outstanding drivers on the Dell site and do my windows 10 updates.  I ran the diagnostic scan again for hardware on the Dell site and ... and the network card still failed the scan.  The information from the Dell site is that the device is fine. Maybe it is a software or configuration problem.  I have no problem connecting to the internet.
I ran DISM RestoreHealth, I checked for updates for the driver via Windows updates and I am at a loss as to how to fix this problem.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I forgot to add - I did run the Network Adapters Troubleshooter - and when I ran it - the Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller was Diagnosed to be fine. So why is Support Assist diagnosing it differently? Is there a problem with Support Assist?

Hi LuckCharms4U:

See my 12-Jul-2022 post in Mike2084's Fail Support Assists PCI Bus - Functional Tests - D0701, as well as employee @DELL-Chris M's comment <here> in that same thread that states:

"That D0701 error is simply a SupportAssist analytical notation. This is not a hardware fault. In future, Dell will remove these SupportAssist analytical notations from the diagnostic results.

If you think that you may have an actual hardware fault, run the Dell ePSA diagnostics. Then click the "Get help now" on the right to provide the results to our agents."

I suspect your D1303 error could be another "harmless" analytical notation that Dell is planning to remove in a future version of SupportAssist. If your ePSA (enhanced Pre-boot System Assessment) hardware diagnostics don't find any issues I think it should be safe to ignore this SupportAssist error.

Thank you for replying and for your suggestions.  I did not run the eSPA at that time - as the Dell Site did say that the hardware itself was fine ... but I will run it.

Hello.. I did run the eSPA .. everything is fine.  SupportAssist came up with the same error again this month.  I am hoping they patch/fix it soon.
