Click here for information to completely uninstall support assist and then reinstall it back into the computer.
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

@DELL-Jesse L The linked page is no help because the installer just does not work at all. Can't uninstall what has never installed in the first place.

Hi neilm831:
What is your Dell computer model, Windows OS [open a Run dialog box (Windows key + R) and enter winver to find the version and OS build number] and BIOS version? To find your current BIOS version open a Run dialog box, enter msinfo32 to open your System Information, and look for the field named "BIOS Version / Date" in the summary.
You might find some helpful information in rftsngl's 19-May-2025 topic Unable to Install or Run Any Dell Applications - "Application is not supported" Error. This user found .txt logs for individual installers in the hidden C:\ProgramData\Dell\UpdatePackage\log folder on their Dell G15 5520 / Win 11 v24H2 laptop that pointed to installation failures for multiple Dell applications due to a DEP_HARD_ERROR .
The solution posted 08-May-2025 by GarTrev in Rich Downey's Dell Command Update 5.5.0 will not install (Resolved) allowed rftsngl to successfully install Dell Update for Windows Universal v5.5.0. Specifically, rftsngl terminated all instances of Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) in Task Manager and ran a silent install of Dell-Update-Windows-Universal-Application_7CJ1W_WIN64_5.5.0_A00.EXE from an elevated command prompt with Administrator rights as instructed by GarTrev.
AFAIK rftsngl stopped troubleshooting at that point and didn't test to see if a silent install of SupportAssistInstaller.exe (available at https://downloads.dell.com/serviceability/catalog/SupportAssistinstaller.exe) would successfully install the latest SupportAssist v4.x. Your own SupportAssist installation failure might be caused by something other than a DEP_HARD_ERROR and/or a silent install might not work in your case, but there are other suggestions in rftsngl's topic (e.g., right-clicking SupportAssistInstaller.exe and choosing "Run as Administrator; pre-installing the Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.x, which is a pre-requisite for the latest SupportAssist v4.x per the release notes <here>, etc.) that might solve your installation problem.
