PT25 has insufficient drive space with nor user sw installed
Inspiron 11 3185 2-in-1
Need to move support assist to another drive.
I got an inspiron 25T for wife a while ago and it came with a 30G HD. That sounded like plenty for her, but it turns out that by the time win10 and a lot of DELL utils are installed there's not enough HD space left to do anything. I got a 1TB external SSD that I mounted as drive F:
But I need to clean of enough space to be able to run a windows update. There is only 4GB left with the factory sw install.
How can I move this? Or will I need to try to wipe out win10 and install it to the USB SSD and change the boot partition? I really can't believe Dell could sell something that the HD was full before any user SW is installed.
Please let me know what to do.

I can feel your pain, been stuck with over a Dozen such units in my office, in 2018 it sounded like a great deal. No Dell apps can not be moved to other Partitions. here are a few things which you can do with this machine.
1. Change Browser download location to SD card, current location is C/User/username/Downloads
2. Do a clean install of windows,. make a bootable USB using windows media creation. During the time of installation delete all the partitions including Dell's factory partitions. Do not install any Bloarware from Dell including support assist.
3. You can also change the location of other user folders such as documents, Desktop, and pictures to SD Card. I am not recommending your USB SSD for this as this will require it to be plugged in all the time.
4. You can use an external device for windows updates when the internal eMMC drive doens't have enough storage
Free up space for Windows updates (microsoft.com)
5. Perform a deep disk cleanup once a week > Run disk cleanup > Cleanup system files.
6. Disable Hibernation: This will avoid creating Hibernation.sys
Even after doing all this you may have to do manual cleanups.
Delete Temp, %TEMP%, Prefetch, Windows distribution manually.

Well, I think the best alternative is just replace the HD with a bigger one.
I tried to open the case after watching a video, but it seems like there is a center fasten point that is glued or molded together (on the back of the case is a ~5/16 shiny circular surface - maybe a spot weld?) So I'm afraid of pulling on it too hard. The reset of the perimeter is separated.
What kind of SSD HD is this? Is it the type that look like a regular sata and have the same interface connector and reside in a caddy? I'm thinking 500G. Do you have any recommendations? And again, is there some trick to breaking it in half?
Thanks in advance.

So, it sounds like a product design defect. Pretty useless as is. I wish I'd known this back when I bought it. I'd have returned it. I was still a Dell employee then. My wife just never bothered with it, and I didn't have time to fool with it. So, I guess I'm SOL. Guess I'll have to buy her another one.

This notebook was designed for Basic users (Kid doing homework, Grandma checking her emails)
At the time of launched Dell wasn't aware that Microsoft would release feature updates worth gigabytes twice a year. As I said earlier I have over a dozen units in my office.
you will have to perform a clean OS installation once a year to use it.
