Optimize Network and Dropped Wifi Connections
I didn't know where to post this, so please let me know if it should be moved elsewhere.
I've been a Dell customer for over 10 years. I have bought many desktops, laptops and all-in-ones in that time period. I do run the full suite of functions in SupportAssist periodically.
Yesterday I confirmed pretty much what I suspected about the Optimize Network feature.
It causes wifi connections to drop at random times.
I have seen this happen ever since SupportAssist was first released.
I ran Windows "Reset Network" yesterday and the problem went away.
I want to bring this to Dell's attention and also maybe help out others that are seeing their network drop if using wifi.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Hi, I can't provide you with the 8 to 10 service tags for all the Dell CPUs I've bought over the year. I'm just trying to let you know that the Optimize Network function does something to the network adapter that will cause it to drop wifi connectivity periodically.
More than likely, users may not even notice, or know the cause since the drops do not occur until days or weeks later.
But I can tell you with much certainty that the wifi drops stop completely once I do a network reset. They appear again when I run Optimizer.
