Laptop working extremely very slow
Vostro 3400
Hello,
My dell vostro 14 3000 laptop is working very slow from past few months. It takes nearly 20 mins to start after power on.
And all applications are working very slow. I have removed unwanted apps & did all basic troubleshooting steps but still no luck. I'm frustrated by this latency issue. Request your team to review my laptop and resolve this issue ASAP.

Hi Sadiq24:
If your service warranty has not expired and you would like to contact Dell Support directly you can open a support request at https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/contactus as instructed in the support article How to Create a Support Request Online for Dell EMC. As a general rule, Dell employees do not respond to requests for tech support in this Dell Community.
What is your Windows operating system [if Win 10 or Win 11 please include the edition (Home or Pro), version and build shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications], antivirus and default browser? Do you have the latest Dell Inspiron 3501 and Vostro 3400/3401/3500/3501 System BIOS v1.17.0 (released 08-Aug-2022) listed on the support page <here> for the Vostro 3400? If you aren't sure open a Run dialog box, enter msinfo32 to open your System Information panel, and look for the “BIOS Version/Date” field. What basic troubleshooting steps have you taken so far, other than removing unwanted apps?
You've posted your question in the SupportAssist for PCs board of this forum. Do you suspect that a Dell application (e.g., SupportAssist, Dell SupportAssist Remediation, etc.) is responsible for your slow boot times and poor system performance? If so what Dell applications are listed currently installed on your Vostro 3400? From my Inspiron 5584 / Win 10 Pro v21H2 laptop:
If you have a Win 10 or Win 11 OS open Task Manager and select the Startup tab. What is your Last BIOS Time, and are there any apps that load at bootup that have a High startup impact? From my Inspiron 5584 (with an Epson XP-7100 wireless printer):
If you have a Win 8.1, Win 10 or Win 11 OS and haven't already done so, please disable your Fast Startup power option (also known as hybrid boot-up / hybrid shutdown) as instructed in Option 1 of the TenForums tutorial How to Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10 and then re-boot your computer to see if this solves your slow startup problem. This power option is enabled by default but Fast Startup can interfere with the loading of services and drivers of third-party software at boot-up and cause unexpected problems, and Microsoft has acknowledged that Fast Startup can even interfere with Windows Update - see the MS support article Updates May Not Be Installed With Fast Startup in Windows 10.
Warning: If you have Windows updates pending installation your first re-boot after Fast Startup is disabled may be slow - be patient and don't restart your computer down while the installation(s) are trying to run to completion.
