Laptop Transfer

Hello, I am planning to sell my Dell G5500 laptop. I would like to transfer the ownership of the warranty and also factory reset the laptop. Is there any order that I should do this process in? My plan right now is to Factory reset the laptop and then transfer ownership of the laptop to the new owner. Can someone tell me if I need to reverse the process I am planning on?
