Dongle Setup for upstream connection to control laptop from desktop with usbc

Hello,

I am seeking advice to see if it is possible to set up certain usb upstream dongle connection. I have a personal PC desktop with dual monitors, mouse, keyboard, etc. that I want to use to control my work laptop (precision 5570) when I bring it home. What I want is a single usbc connection that I plug my laptop into, and then I can use my desktop setup to control my laptop. I can power with the separate power supply. I have a Dell USB-C to USB-A/HDMI adapter dongle, can this be used for that purpose?
