Dell Support Assistant Woes
Hello,
I had been running the system check function on Support Assistant (SA) on my Dell G5 5090 fairly regularly and without issue up until a couple of weeks ago when the recommended updates would not install.
Wish I'd taken a screenshot but I thought I would just try again another time.
The next time I opened up SA and tried to run a check, the whole thing froze up.
I thought I'd try a reinstall so I updated the BIOS and Chipset as directed here:
Uninstalled SA and associated Update Plugin but when I try to install Support Assistant from the website download, I get an 'Installation Failed' message that prompts me to reboot and try again. I have tried this without any success.
This may be unrelated, but I have also tried running the Dell Update app but, when I check for updates, it freezes at 10%.
Not sure precisely how I've here but any help would be massively appreciated.
Kind regards,
Doug

I'm getting a hand with this via private messages but I just wanted to provide an update.
I had uninstalled "Dell Support Assistant" software but I had missed an application that was simply named "Support Assistant."
My bad.
Uninstalled this and it now allows me to install SA but, upon opening it, the loading screen states that it is 'Loading PC Optimization Tools' for sometime before running into an unexpected error and suggesting a restart.
Tried this and get the same result.

This is hopefully the final part of this monologue.
Opened up SA again without any further action and it just started working.
Clearly some sort of sorcery.
Feel free to bin this thread as I'm not sure how much help it could actually provide.
What a world...
