Dell Optimizer

OptiPlex Micro 7010

OptiPlex Micro 7010

I downloaded the new version of the Optimizer from this site, but it still doesn't start (like the old one).
Could you help me, please?

If your Dell Optimizer isn't starting, try disabling Smart App Control in Windows 11 to see if that will resolve the issue.

Accessing settings:
You can find the settings for Smart App Control within the App & browser control panel of the Windows Security app.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

I've attempted to use the version 6 Dell Optimizer on both my Precision 5690 and a Latitude 7440 that I'm typing this message on. I finally gave up and uninstalled on both machines due to the lockup freezes and issues with having to reboot just to get to the desktop.

I had already disabled the presence detection as suggested, and I didn't have a need for the network optimization for conference calls.

I kept seeing strange event viewer results about the IPF that looked something like this after the system would freeze:

"ESIF(1.0.11903.2253) TYPE: ERROR MODULE: IPF TIME 39095 ms

DPTF Build Version:  9.0.11703.48565
DPTF Build Date:  Jul 29 2024 14:19:56
Source File:  C:\jenkins\workspace\dptf\Src\DPTF\Sources\Manager\WorkItem.cpp @ line 204
Executing Function:  WorkItem::writeWorkItemErrorMessagePolicy
Message:  Unhandled exception caught during execution of work item
Framework Event:  DptfAppBroadcastUnprivileged [116]
Policy:  Energy Performance Optimizer Policy [2]
Exception Function:  Policy::executeApplicationOptimizerBroadcastReceived
Exception Text:
The feature is not implemented."

...or the ever present Dell Trusted Device issues:

"Dell Trusted Device has completed a Secured Component Verification scan of the system <Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin>
at 04/29/2025 02:45 PM.

Result: ERROR. Platform not currently supported"

And no clues as to what the fixes might be.

And what is this Source file C:\jenkins folder all about?

@torstenbr I have not gotten a resolution to this. I just live without the Optimizer.

I have the same problem. It's not just me. No one has solved this problem.

Same event viewer errors her on our fully updated (bios etc.) Dell XPS14 9440 with NVidia GeForce RTX 4050 display adapter, running the latest version of Windows 11 64-bit.

At startup, we get a dozen or more of these errors in the event viewer:

ESIF(1.0.11903.2253) TYPE: ERROR MODULE: IPF TIME 127058 ms

DPTF Build Version:  9.0.11703.48565
DPTF Build Date:  Jul 29 2024 14:19:56
Source File:  C:\jenkins\workspace\dptf\Src\DPTF\Sources\Manager\WorkItem.cpp @ line 204
Executing Function:  WorkItem::writeWorkItemErrorMessagePolicy
Message:  Unhandled exception caught during execution of work item
Framework Event:  DptfAppBroadcastUnprivileged [116]
Policy:  Energy Performance Optimizer Policy [2]
Exception Function:  Policy::executeApplicationOptimizerBroadcastReceived
Exception Text:
The feature is not implemented.

Does not seem to cause any issue in the real world...for now.

Any resolution?
