Dell Command Update and Support Assist do not work

Hello,

An interesting problem came up a few days ago. Neither Dell Command Update nor Support Assist can update the drivers.The following error message pops up after searching for Dell Command Update: No update information is avaible. A system security error has ocurd.Support Assist will: We couldn't update this device because it's not supported.

The current SupportAssist v4.0.3 has many known bugs, and these bugs are especially prevalent when SupportAssist and Dell Command | Update are installed at the same time.  Employee DELL-Chris M's 10-Jun-2024 topic SupportAssist, "Hardware scan fails", "We ran into a problem" recommends that users having issues with SupportAssist v4.0.3 should uninstall SupportAssist and wait for a new SupportAssist release that (hopefully) includes some bug fixes.  I am not sure why this topic isn't pinned at the top of this SupportAssist for PCs board.

Are you using the Dell Command | Update for Windows Universal v5.4.0 app (Dell-Command-Update-Windows-Universal-Application_9M35M_WIN_5.4.0_A00.EXE, rel. 31-Jul-2024) listed on the Latitude 5550 support page at https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/product-support/product/latitude-15-5550-laptop/drivers?  After you browse to that web page be sure to click "This Device" and enter your unique Service Tag (and ensure that web page correctly auto-detects your Windows 11 OS) to see a filtered list of Dell software and drivers that match your system components.  If you are using your Latitude 5550 as a home computer (i.e., rather than a client computer managed remotely on a business network) I assume this Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app would be a better choice for a home computer with a Win 10 / Win 11 OS instead of the "old-style" Dell Command | Update Win32 application.
