crashing, DVDDataCollector, Dell Digital Delivery Windows Service

Hi. Today my notebook stopped working 2 times and problem source reported in the first one as "DVDDataCollector" and "Dell Digital Delivery Windows Service" with report sent to windows for both. A blue screen appeared with notice and that they are going to fix and restart for me. After both crashing I shut down and turned on again then I continued working. After the last crashing 3 hours passed and still working. What would you recommend me to do? Best regards

Hi Tandelly:

I uninstalled  most of the Dell apps from my Inspiron 5584 after my service warranty expired (they were too buggy and consumed too much RAM and CPU), but AFAIK DVDDataCollector is part of Dell SupportAssist v4.8.x, while Dell Digital Delivery Windows Service is part of Dell Digital Delivery v5.6.x.

I don't understand what you mean by "crack". To me, cracked software refers to the illegal modification of commercial software or use of illegal product keys to avoid licensing and usage restrictions. What is the exact message displayed by Windows when it flags these services, and do these warnings include a Stop Code? See the Dell support article Blue Screen (BSOD) Errors and Stop Code Issues in Windows for more information.

When you post back also let us know your Dell computer model, Windows operating system [open a Run dialog box (Windows key + R) and enter winver to find the version and OS build number] and BIOS version, along with the current versions of your Dell Optimizer, Dell SupportAssist and Dell Digital Delivery apps, if installed.  To find your BIOS version open a Run dialog box, enter msinfo32 to open your System Information, and look for the field named "BIOS Version / Date" in the summary.

It would also help to know if your Dell service warranty as expired yet.
