Can Dell Update the Windows 11 24H2 build being deployed through SupportAssist
Dell really needs to update the Windows 11 24H2 revision number that is being pushed out through SupportAssist OS revovery. They are using 26100.863 which is the original build released to OEMs. Installing the Cumulative Updates on that version is very slow and painful. Even if you download the updates from the MS Update Catalog and install them by hand.

After update...Windows 11 24H2 my XPS 8930 does not recognize my wireless (adapter). Does not show in system menu. Thus...no wireless connection. Fix?

Hi 1965cobra:
Do you have SupportAssist v4.x and/or Dell Update for Windows Universal v5.x installed, and if so do they detect an available update for the WiFi/wireless adapter installed in your XPS 8930?
Go to the XPS 8930 support page at https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/xps-8930-desktop/drivers, click the This Device tab, and enter your unique Service Tag as shown below. What is the name and version of the wireless driver recommended by Dell for your system configuration? NOTE: Check to make sure that Drivers & Downloads page correctly auto-detects your Win 11 OS.
Then go to Device Manager, confirm the make and model of your wireless adapter is a match, and check the current driver version. If you currently have an older driver version then download the driver recommended on your XPS 8930 support page and save to your desktop, right-click, choose "Run as Administrator", and restart your system after the installation runs to completion. From my Inspiron 15 5584 / Win 10 laptop, which has a Qualcomm QCA9377 wireless adapter and currently has the driver version recommended on the support page for my computer model:
If that doesn't help post back and let us know the edition (Home or Professional), version, and OS build number of your Win 11 OS [open a Run dialog box (Windows key + R) and enter winver] as well as your current BIOS version (open a Run dialog box, enter msinfo32 to view your System Information, and look for the field named "BIOS Date/Version"). Unfortunately, Win 11 v24H2 is still a work in progress (see the Known Issues at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-24h2#known-issues) and many users are reporting buggy behaviour with this version.
EDIT:
If you have the recommended driver for your Wireless adapter you can also try re-booting your router and/or modem as instructed in the Lifewire article How to Properly Restart a Router & Modem (i.e., unplug the power cable from the back of your modem, wait ~ 30 seconds, plug the power cable back in, and wait a few minutes for the modem to acquire a new connection to your ISP). A router / modem re-boot can often solve all sorts of glitchy behaviour with internet connections.
