Another SupportAssist installation failed.
I have an ALIENWARE AURORA R11 desktop and I had a problem updating Support Assist so I followed other posts about uninstalling it and reinstalling, but now every time I attempt to reinstall it gives a failed to install message. I have followed every suggested solution on numerous forums. None have been successful.

Status update, Dell-Cares resolved this by using a remote session with the original poster. Please use Get Help Now if you're having trouble with SupportAssist.

Same issue here - SupportAssist wouldn't start after Windows Update updated the BIOS on my XPS 9510, and so I uninstalled SupportAssist but can't install it again.

Hi Scott_Pa:
Do you know what DELL-Cares did during your remote access session that allowed them to reinstall SupportAssist on your Alienware Aurora R11, and do you currently have the latest SupportAssist v3.11.4.29?

So how do I get Dell support to give me a treatment that actually solves my issue. I was told I had to reinstall Windows entirely. That is not an acceptable solution!!!

I was checking the scheduled tasks on my Inspiron and saw that the Dell Supportassist Autoupdate task was failing. I tried to update SA but it said that I had the current version. I uninstalled SA and tried to reinstall. It failed which brought me here. I then found the below event in my application event log. I installed the .NET Desktop Runtime. Got SA installed after that.
Check your application and system eventlogs to see if have the same error before you run any installs.

So if your system is out of warranty, but upgraded to Win10, you are SOL? You won't post what you did to fix it? Great Job Dell...........................
