Why does my Dell laptop fan run so loud even when I’m not gaming?
Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that the fan on my Dell laptop gets really loud sometimes, even when I’m just browsing or doing light tasks like watching videos. It doesn’t feel hot to the touch, but the noise is distracting. I’ve already checked for dust and updated the BIOS, but the issue is still there.
Is this normal behavior, or could it be a sign of a hardware issue? Any tips on how to reduce the fan noise would be appreciated.

It feels weird when the fan ramps up during simple stuff like browsing, but that usually points to background processes or thermal profiles being a bit aggressive. I’ve seen cases where updates or indexing spike CPU quietly. Worth checking task manager and cleaning vents too, dust buildup can make cooling less efficient over time
