Windows servers and "Volume Group Free" statistics

Hello All,

We have quite a few Active/Active Windows clusters in our environment and I think this is skewing some of our numbers in the FreeSpace ECC view and perhaps the StorageScope report numbers.

Since both hosts in the cluster have access to the same number of luns, but half are mounted on one node, the other half on the other node, ECC is reporting the luns not mounted as "Volume Group Free" space even though it is in use on the other cluster node.

Right now the clusters are still running ECC agents version 5.2 SP3, but I plan to upgrade them to 6.0x soon. Does anyone know if the upgrade will resolve this issue or of another possible solution to Windows clusters and reporting?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

I can't say for sure but I think upgrading to 6.0 or 6.1 would be an definite improvement re StorageScope capacity reporting.
