The support for EMC ControlCenter 6.1 will end in July 2011.
Hello, We currently use ECC 6.0 We consider installing ECC 6.1 now In the EMC Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 Support Matrix, P/N 300-006-384 REV A26 at page 39 I read: The support for EMC ControlCenter 6.1 will end in July 2011 I heard that IONIX SRM 7.0 is comming out end of 2010 beginning 2011 Is it still worthwhile to install 6.1 or better wait for 7.0? Hi,
Update Bundle 9 (Q4 '10) will extend the EOPS for CC 6.1 until at least 12/2011. The EOPS date may actually go beyond this date as it will take some time for many customers to migrate over to SRM 7.0.
I would strongly recommend that you upgrade to 6.1 UB8 in the meantime.

Hi Artur,
ProSphere 1.0 was released on July 29. It was known as SRM7 during the development phase. You can find more information on the product on Powerlink under Products > Software P-R > ProSphere.
Meanwhile, ControlCenter 6.x will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future. As you stated, UB11 was released recently (Aug 10) and there is the possibility of another Update Bundle before the end of the year.

I just noticed this thread and saw your comment regarding the possibility of another UB for 6.1 before the end of the year. We are just getting into the planning phase for upgrading from UB9 to UB11 (lots of higher priority projects got in the way). Is there any word on another UB coming out? My understanding was that UB11 was going to be the final one for 6.1... now I need to know if I should hold off a bit on touching it if another bundle is just around the corner.

Hi Allen,
Yes, there will be another Update Bundle - it will be UB12 and it is due to be released in December. There is the possibility of a further UB in 2012 but this is unconfirmed at this time.

Wow, that is quite a change from the previous target of UB11 being the last one. I guess I'll try to avoid speculating to openly on what that might mean for release dates on the next major update to ProSphere :-)

If you are new to ControlCenter, then it may be best to start with the 'Ionix ControlCenter 6.1 Overview' document.
