StorageScope Reports mailing

At the moment we only use ECC with Performance Manager without StorageScope. Is there an option to get sheduled reports to managers for reporting e.g. could StorageScope shedule an report creation and finally send the results (pdf) per mail automatically?

I didn`t find anything in the docs on powerlink.

Regards,
Andreas

It is a built-in feature. StorageScope 6.0 ships with the Crystal XI runtime so you can either run the built-in reports or create your own and import them. The custom reports have access to data in the new StorageScope repository which is an Oracle data warehouse that replaced the XML files from 5.2.

Well, I certainly can't say it cannot be done, but it doesn't look good if the feature is not already in place. The data files are stored in a binary format, unlike storagescope where the files are all in .xml.

Are you sure the "Automated Report Job Scheduler" within WLA cannot do what you are asking? here is the overview in the help file:

Automated Report Job Scheduler dialog box
Automated reports are performance reports that are generated with the performance archives. Automated reports are defined through automation jobs. The automation jobs are managed from this dialog box.

The Automated Report Job Scheduler allows you to:

Create a new job by clicking Add. This launches the Automation Job Wizard. Follow the procedures defined in the wizard.

Modify an existing automation job by selecting the branch of the job you are modifying and clicking Modify. This launches the Automation Job Wizard in the step associated with the branch you selected. Make the necessary changes and continue to the end of the Automation Job Wizard.

Remove an existing automation job that is no longer any use by selecting the job in the Automation Jobs list and clicking Remove.

Organize the jobs the way you want them to appear in the report by selecting a job and clicking the up or down arrow until the job is where you want it.

Test the job by clicking Test. This generates all of the reports immediately.

The Automated Report Job Scheduler is accessed from the Reports menu, Job Scheduler.

take a look and let us know.

StorageScope 6.0 has the capability to automatically run Crystal Reports (built-in and custom) based on a user-defined schedule and have the output, which can be pdf, e-mailed to a user-supplied address.

@seths
Is it an built-in feature by StorageScope 6.0 or does it need other software like Crystal Reports XI?
