Storagescope report contains old HBA adapter info for some hosts

This past weekend we were in updating all of our SAN attached hosts with the latest EMC supported versions Emulex HBA Drivers and Firmware. All hosts are Windows 2003 with the 6.0 version of ECC Master and Host Agents. Approximately 30 hosts checked in with updated information, I'm troubleshooting about 4 rogue hosts that are showing old info. The hosts were updated (proved by a manual audit) and I have restarted the master agent on these hosts - not to mention the servers were rebooted after the update.

Any ideas out there?

Your post sounds like you've been running 6.0 with the four Windows hosts in question fully discovered before upgrading the Emulex HBA driver and firmware; is that correct? We just installed ECC 6.0 and I noticed there is a patches related to (1) hosts not reporting HBA information and (2) disappearing. One patch included a new Host Agent. Hope that helps.

Hi,

The Host HBA in ControlCenter must be deleted, and a new discovery must be performed in ControlCenter:

-In ControlCenter Console, right-click on the host in the tree panel, click Agents -> Stop. Use the wizard to stop all agents on the host.
-In the tree panel, expand the host, then the Adapters folder. Right-click on the old HBA, click Delete. The old HBA should disappear.
-Right-click on the host, select Agents -> Start. Use the wizard to start all agents on the host.
-Wait approximately 5 minutes for the Host to become fully discovered by ControlCenter.
-The new HBA should now appear under the host in the tree panel.
