With the formatting change in StorageScope in 6.0, you can no longer create "by group" report layouts. StorageScope "by group" reports are custom reports, and custom reports are now generated through custom queries using the Query Builder.
StorageScope 6.0 Query Builder does not support creation of queries containing user-defined Groups and sub-Groups. Suggested workarounds in Storagescope include:
Use the "by Group" built-in reports if they are sufficient to meet your reporting requirements.
Apply a custom field "Group" to your objects. A query can then show all of the objects in a group (of a particular type), and you can summarize by group too.
Create a custom report using a tool like Crystal Reports to include the Group and sub-Group information as required.
Note: EMC Engineering has indicated that group querying functionality is included in ControlCenter 6.1.

i would post your question in the EMC ControlCenter section of this forum, there are a lot of ECC/StorageScope experts there, hopefully you will get more replies.
