SQL 2008 & Infra V8 - Any success stories or issues seen ?

Hi All,

Infra V8 is apparently supported on native SQL 2008 and we are planning to move this way, but I wondered if others had already been down this track and what success / issues you may have seen ?

So far it looks OK in test, but would appreciate any guidance before we go to production.

Thanks

Brendan

Brendan,

We're running Infra ver 8 with SQL 2008 and we have not had any issues.

We're using most of the features in Infra including:

- Incidents (Calls Logged)

- Public Holidays Defined

- SLAs and OLAs

- Email notification and custom message templates

- Email Settings

- Activity Logs

- IPK Groups

- IPL Workflow Rules

- Workflow Mgmt Groups

- Reports Designer (for Custom Reports)

- Reporting

- Workflow Template, Workflows, and Workflow Processes

- Requests

- Approvals

- Tasks

- Objects (File Attachments)

- Customer Portal

- Bulletin Board

- Service Level Management

- Screen Designer

- Request Submission Designer

- Directory Integration

- Federated CMDB

- Dashboards

- Monitors

This covers most of the features in Infra and we haven't had any problems.    Well, except for one:   I can't get Approvals to show up on the Customer Portal, but that's most likely a settings issue.   Still working on figuring out that one.

If you have any questions on SQL 2008, please let me know.

Thanks Steve,

Good to know someone else is doing it. A couple of extra questions if you dont mind

Are you running in 2008 native mode or 2005 compability ?

Have you looked at SQL2008 R2 as yet for Infra ?

Cheers

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

We're running in 2008 native mode.  We're looking at SQL2008 R2 for Infra to test in our development environment, but

have not set a date yet.
