Repository export - import

Hi

We are in process to perform two actions in a ControlCenter infraestructure:

  1. Upgrade from UB5 to UB7
  2. Move the installation drive from system  ( C:\ ) to other ( E:\ )

We are concerned that step two can only be performed if we take a repository export and import it in a fresh install performed to the desired drive. Does not matter if it's the same machine or not; if mantain the hardware, will need to uninstall and install, and in a new hardware, we can leave the installation as is ( for possible rollback needs ).

The questions are:  If we install the new ECC with UB7, will we able to import a repository that was previously exported with UB5 level?

If could be possible, will save a lot of time because will avoid all steps regarding the UB5-UB7 update in a production environment.

Other questions are concerned to the export - import procedure: Need to preserve ControlCenter FQDN in destination if change hardware? If in the actual installation there are Custom Fields, the export - import will save them or need to proceed separate?

Thanks for all in advance.

Regards

Hi

Thanks, it's running as suspected, and both repositories will be not compatible.

Yes, I was thinking about to first upgrade and later move, or as Venkat says, move first and upgrade later.

Maybe moving the installation first will have more security, since original installation is left untouched.
