Questions before we upgrade to 6.1 : Cisco and Install dirs
Hi,
Before we upgrade to 6.0 to 6.1 I have a couple of questions:
In the 6.1 upgrade guide p.83 a default install location can be changed. Our 6.0 install in e:\ecc is littered with bits of backups and rollbacks. Could we safely used e:\ECC61 as a location and then nuke e:\ECC when all done. Would this move the repository as well and give a close to fresh install? I'd like opinion on the wisdom of this. Does it make thing break?
Our Cisco switch environment needs to be discovered and alerted on in ECC but no configuration / zoning changes performed.
Can this be done with SNMPv3 as a read-only user on the switches (preferred)?
It looks as it is can be set up with SNMPv2 as read-only/
Plan B would be to move all ECC users out of ECC Admins into "all but SAN Management group & Rule definition", but the Network Admins don't like the idea of ECC having a powerful login to the switches. Is there anyway around this?
Regards
Simon

Ages later I know but or upgrade to 6.1 UB7 went well.
FCC can be used with a SNMPv2 readonly community string and SNMPv3 can bet set up as a network_operator level user and it imports OK.
