Question about ECC and VMWARE ESX 3.x

Hi

My name is Eric From Mexico CITY.

I have a question about ECC and VMware ESX,

I have ECC 6.0 installed in my production environment, with differents operating systems configured, I just installed a Vmware Server ESX 3.X and I want to add this server to ECC, I mean I have to configure it into ECC, But I don't know how to do that.

does any one know the steps (one by one) to add the new vmware server into my EMC ECC?

Best regards

Hi Eric,

The first thing that you need to do is install the VMware Agent on a Windows server in your ControlCenter environment. Once this is done you will be able to discover the ESX Server via the Discover > Assisted > ESX Server tab.

The ControlCenter Planning and Installation Guide (available to download from Powerlink) has all the relevant information (see the section 'Plan for VMware Agent' on page 98).

Let me know if you need more info.....

Hello guanabacoa,

I have uploaded two documents at the following address ftp://ftp.emc.com/outgoing/12345.

I hope these docs will help you to understand the process better. If you have any question please let me know.
