HI all

I am also upgrading to UB7. I need the installation guide for how to install, upgrade and apply patches. I went through the pre reqs pdf but its still doesn't give a clear picture about the installation and moreover the dowloadable files are no longer in that location. I searched through all the documents but couldn't find an appropriate one.

A lot of stuff got moved around with the rebranding of ControlCenter under the Ionix division. Have you looked under Ionix instead of ControlCenter?

Actually the thing is there are no downloadable patches (Patch # 4673) in the powerlink site. I just contacted support and was informed that I need to get access by contacting powerlink site support. I just did the same and waiting for their reply. Though the pre req pdf gave a good idea about the upgrade, readme file would give a clear instructions so as to how to upgrade it. Ours is at 6.1 UB2. Cisco Nexus switches aren't discovered right now as they are compatible with UB7 and we need to discover them as my customer needs reports from San advisor which pulls the data from ECC server. As stated earlier if the research and planning is good the process should be smooth enough.

That makes more sense. Sounds like the Powerlink admin folks didn't have your software site registered with your account to give you access the the patches and such. Once they get that corrected you should see everything appear.

One more thing. So if we take the backup of everything and upgrade it to UB7 then what happens to all the stuff already existing on the ECC server. Do we need to re discover everything or setup alerts from the start.

When you do the upgrade, it maintains all the information you already have. Part of the process is going to be pushing out new agents, but all the managed objects in CC will still be there, so you will not have to rediscover hosts, arrays, switches, etc.
