MLRESN107W - no hbas discovered for this host (vm host)
Hi all,
We have installed ECC host agents on all over Windows and Linux vm's for capacity purposes.
Is there a way to suppress the "no hbas discovered for this host" error for vm hosts?
We're using controlcenter 6.1 UB5.
Cheers,
Martijn

Hello Martijn
Because that alert fires for a number of issues we can not specify that symptom only to be removed. There are workaround options that I have provided below however both have drwn backs. I recommend submitting an enhancement request for this to be an issue in a future release.
1. Acknowledge (but don't clear) the alert so that no new alerts will be issued. You will still see the alert but you will not get continous emails and the acknowledged alerts do not call as much attention. You can also make a note on the alert as to why it has not been cleared so it is not done by accident.
2. Remove the host from the 'apply to' tab in the generic agent alert definition. You will stop recieving the HBA alert but you will also not recieve a number of other minor allerts that are monitored by this definition.
Do the following to submit an enhancement request in Powerlink.
1. Navigate as follows: Support>Request Support>Contact EMC
2. Select Software product enhancement request in the Subject drop down and click Submit.
3. Accept the Disclaimer and proceed to the form.
