There are settings in MGA.INI which control the maximum size of any individual log file as well as how many are kept.

There's a Primus case for 5.2 (emc166493) which has detailed instructions which probably still applies in 6.0. It shouldn't cause any changes to your environment (beyond making it more difficult to diagnose problems if not caught immediately, obviously, since log file history would be lessened). If you would like support for doing this, it's probably best to contact the EMC Support Center and give them that Primus ID.

Make sure you backup your INI file before doing anything.

But, if you're just looking at the INI file yourself, the entries you are looking for, according to the Primus case, are Max Size KB and Archive Count. You would need to shut down the agent before making the change and restart afterwards.

I don't know for sure that the procedure is identical for 6.0 and 5.2, so I would suggest best practice here is contacting support and quoting the solution ID I mentioned.

What version agent is causing this?

Is it the MGA.log which is growing or another file? If it's the MGA.log there should be INI settings which can modify the behavior.

The reason I ask is there was an issue in early releases of 6.0 (addressed by HF 3980) were agents were creating an erroneous debug log file which could grow excessively. This was one of the first hotfixes for 6.0.

It is MGA.log file

What modifications that I can do in the INI settings. Will it impact any object in the environment(Host,Storage etc)?

Please assist me Spencer.
