Metavols

On are DMX-3

When creating metavols on some vols I am getting the following error

Member Physical disk speed must be the same as the metahead????

You did not specify your ECC version, but since we just ran across this ourselves after upgrading to ECC 6.0 I'll assume that is the version you are referencing.

If the speeds are truly different (10K vs 15K drives) then this is "working as intended" and the software is trying to prevent you from making mistakes. However - if these are same speed drives it is possible that say a 300GB 10K drive and a 146GB 10K drive will show slightly different speeds which you could see under the property tab for the device in ECC (i.e. one may show 10100 and the other 10066 for the speed field)

The short of this - if you are running ECC 6.0 and you're drives are the same nominal speed (i.e. both listed as 10K) then you need to request the following patches which are not publicly released:

CC_4105 and CC_4125
