Is there prerequisites to do on ECC before upgrading a Clariion

Hello,

We are going to upgrade one of our Clariion from CX3 to CX4. Project management wants to know if there are tasks we have to do our ECC server prior to and after the upgrade so everything runs fine.

There are really just two things I would check before the upgrade.

  • Make sure that communication/discovery is working fine for that array before you upgrade. That way you will know after if you have a net new problem (if communication fails) or if it was pre-existing
  • Check that the version and patch level of ControlCenter you are running supports the FLARE code that will be on the array when the upgrade is complete. We recently performed a similar upgrade and had to get EMC to put the latest patch level of FLARE 28 on the array instead of FLARE 29. FLARE 29 requires a specific patch level added on top of UB7 and we are not there yet
