AFAIK the limitations you're probably seeking are ESX limits, not Symm limits.

Treat an ESX cluster like any other cluster and mask symdevs to all ESX hosts as needed. ESX does the rest.

As RRR suggested really depends on what you are after. Not aware of any VMWare / DMX-3 specific book, but here are some guides that you might find useful. Just search on PowerLink for these and you'll find them to download in PDF format:
