How can I integrate HP OpenView monitoring tool with EMC products ?

I have several EMC Products in my site. There are EMC ControlCenter 6.1, EMC SAN Switch ED-48000B , EMC NAS NS40G, EMC CLARiiON CX3-80, CX3-40. And I have HP OpenView software for monitoring all of EMC Products. Could you help me the integration among all of EMC Product with HP OV. What is the appropriate protocol among them ? Could you explain the solution should I have ? Thank you in advance.

Well, the fist question I would have is what you want to accomplish with HPOV that you can't accomplish with ControlCenter. CC was designed to work with all the EMC products you have, as well as managing some of them directly (at least to a certain extent).

So, if your only goal is to have monitored alerts forwarded to HPOV, you can do that through CC with the Integration Gateway. Unfortunately CC no longer directly supports HPOV, but you can still use the Gateway to forward SNMP traps for alerting directly to HPOV. It just means you have to do some extra work on the HPOV side of things to interpret the traps you receive.

Hi Sakchai,

I am not the subject matter expert that you are looking for - however, I doubt whether you may get any direct help on the support forums (where EMC Customers and partners participate to help each other along with the presence of few EMC employees as well).

Since you are already running a numbers of EMC products, I 'll suggest to get in touch with your local EMC person (Technical Consultant or Account Rep) to discuss this in details and plan accordingly.

Having said that, I still request others in this forum to comment or suggest accordingly.

BTW, since you are already having the EMC products installed - you should have a customer registration on Powerlink providing you access to all related forums. If that is not the case, please check your powerlink registration - your local EMC team may help on that.

Thanks,
Sandip

I moved this thread from the Lite forum as Sakchai is able to access all forums. If it should be in another forum please add a message about where it should go.
