Hi,

BMC PATROL 7 is supported with ControlCenter 6.1. Please reference the EMC ControlCenter 6.1 Integration Packages Product Guide on Powerlink.

As Seamus (sort of) pointed out there is no direct integration package for BEM. We have successfully configured BEM to receive and interpret SNMP traps from CC though. We were already configured with the HPOV Integration package (which is no longer supported in CC 6.1). We simply added a new SNMP target to the config file and now the traps go to both locations. BEM has to do the work to interpret the traps, but apparently it wasn't that hard for the implementation consultant from BMC to get this working.

Thanks Allen.

I'm no expert when it comes to BMC so I wasn't entirely sure if BMC Event Manager came under the general 'BMC PATROL 7' umbrella as per the Support Matrix.

In general, if a framework is SNMP capable then it should be able to work in conjunction with ControlCenter regardless of whether there is a specific integration package for it or not.

I'm no expert either, but we had BMC engaged for the inital implementation of BEM and they felt that BEM and Patrol were different enough that it wasn't worth trying to change to the Patrol Integration package. We just kept things the way they were originally installed (with the HPOV package) and forwarded the traps off to BEM as well. The consultant had no trouble setting up rules that properly interpreted the info coming from CC.

Hi Allen and others,

Where can I get MIBs for Symmetrix vmax, vplex and centerra.

My ECC is configured to manage these devices

and I am planning to integrate ECC to send SNMP traps to another tool

Thanks,

Viv

Hi,

I cannot say for certain if there are MIBs available for the products that you mention - a quick search in Powerlink only returns MIBs for swithches and RecoverPoint.

It may be better to ask this question over in the individual forums for each product.
